“Switcher” or “Remote Control” ? Which makes more sense?

"Switcher" or "Remote Control" ? Which makes more sense?
My girlfriend calls my Harmony Remoter the "switcher" all the time. When she says that, it reminds of those old school remotes for old TVs that had a clicking sound and that triggered a change on the TV.

I tell her "switcher" doesn't make sense with today's remotes, but she stands by it. Does she need to change her ways as I think she does? :)

she could call it that thingy and it still wouldnt make a difference..

like eraser.. its called rubber in UK or HK.. forgot which..

  2. wires

She could call it a switcher, clicker, remote, or any number of other names. It’s all the same. You know what she means. Basically, she doesn’t have an issue with it, you do. The question is why. To quote or at least paraphrase Shakespeare: A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
