$1.25 Remote-Controlled Ghost!

A story of my first experience with mail fraud. The remote-controlled ghost that I ordered from an ad in my Richie Rich comic book. It was 7 feet tall and could be controlled up to 50 feet to scare my friends. I waited all summer for the package, and was almost more impressed than disappointed. www.kevinnalts.com Distributed by Tubemogul.

The Bazooka joe gum had a camera, it was a plastic one. For the 1.25$ Ghost, it was an exaggerated claim.

    pervert !! just kidding !!

Best. Ending. Ever. That was fantastic.

I sent away for that “money maker” seen just about the ghost offer at 0:18 . Turns out that “real dollar bill” that comes out I had to supply and it was really intended as a magic trick. Imagine my disappointment at 8 years old that I couldn’t get rich by minting my own money (never heard the term “counterfeiting” at that age).

hmm actually the idea will work i mean you could use a pair of those small rc ufos theys ell and make a ghost with light fabric cloth and it would actually work o.O perhaps will be like uhm 10-20?

What a torture those 6-8 weeks used to be. Then to get a tiny package with some piece of junk! Maybe the X-Ray Specks will be better.

    LOL!!
hey – get such funny soundtracks??

  9. roboflyguy

I still have my pedometer as shown in your picture of the Johnson Smith ad. I also have my old catalog from 1973 in perfect condition. So fun to think of all the excitement waiting for the cheap style toys from China.

Yeah I remember that so called ghost. It was in the 60′s when comic books like Richie Rich & Archie comics were 12ยข! I too ordered that crappy ghost..But my mom paid for it! Sorry you had to do without for nothing!

  11. mario4mushies

That happended to me once when i had ordered a pair of “X-ray goggles.”
They were supposed to make you see thru things, but it turns out,
it just made your eyes cross eyed and blurry,
and that cost me 8.99 plus 3.99 for shipping! total crap!
i don’t know how those people just get away with lying to kids like that! it gets me ticked off!

  21. HenryJ1018

You should have put the trash bag over you and pretended you were in the Klan, that would have scared the neighbors more than a ghost.

  22. roboflyguy

I still have my old Johnson Smith catalog from the early 70′s. I never bought the X-ray vision glasses, but I was temped. I did buy the pedometor and the coffin bank.

  23. IrishEyez01

I know I ordered some but I was thinking, as a kiddie does, that they would actually have human faces like on the back of the comic book LOL

  24. spennagee

sea monkeys ARE ACTUALLY bryn srimp

  25. IrishEyez01

yup, reminds me of those dang sea monkeys! I actually thought they were gonna look half human LOL!
